Learn Chinese in China

  • Why you should look around

Since 2003, Chinese-forums.com has been helping people learn Chinese faster and get to China sooner. Our members can recommend beginner textbooks, help you out with obscure classical vocabulary, and tell you where to get the best street food in Xi'an. And we're friendly about it too.

Have a look at what's going on, or search for something specific. We hope you'll join us.

What are your most frequently used chengyus?

Publius

And by the way, don't correct people when they say 每下愈况. That's actually the original form.

Agree on this. And also sometimes the chengyu describes it better than simple words can so. Example: 与世隔绝

@Publius thanks for your advice not to correct  natives. I would never be so brave :-)

@Wippen (inactive) I don't know if it's necessarily the most frequently used chengyu's, but I listen to Laszlo Montgomery's Chinese Sayings Podcast. I find it helpful to hear the background and story of the chengyu to stick in my memory more. And if you don't already listen, I'll also recommend his China History Podcast which is amazing!
