Quotas on China textiles backfire

Shiploads of sweaters are piling up on Europe’s doorstep, while European retailers and their customers are facing a “sweater-buying season” with far less choice than usual. Scores of European trading companies are facing bankruptcy or severe financial losses. Many jobs are likely to be lost.

Such are the consequences of the import restrictions on a number of Chinese textile products that came into effect on July 12. More precisely, they are consequences of the way in which these restrictions were introduced, without proper regard for the realities of modern commerce.

I read about this, it's so stupid, they just introduced the quotas when the orders had already been made and the goods were on their way. They should have waited at least a year or so before implementing those quotas, so that the retailers could take it into account.

Mandy was the guy who made such a pigs ear of the dome project. What makes you think a twit like that could work out that goods in transit would over run the quota.

Another stupid bit of maths from a usless git who couldn't fill out his mortgate form without errors. (I mean he lied and got away with it as he is a very close mate of tony's)

Sacked twice for deceit and still lands a plum job - what is he doing for tony ?

You will expect him to tell the truth next.
