Sage Formula Basic Chinese Readers

I recently came across this series of books (aimed primarily at children, but possibly also useful to adults) which aims to teach 500 common Chinese characters (available in both Traditional and Simplified versions).

It's a bit pricey, but I bring it up here because I remembered this comment by @Flickserve wondering how you'd build a flashcard deck based on N+1 principle of one new word per sentence and that is what this book series does.

高山

高高的山

高高的人

一个人

一个高高的人

大人

一个高高的大人

上山

大人上高山

一个大人上高高的山

and so on all the way up to 500 of the most common Chinese characters.

I'd like to see more comprehensive resources.

But, hey, knowing 500 characters does get you somewhere.

Yes, definitely aimed at the beginner market rather than advanced users.  It just struck me as a good example of how to build a vocabulary from zero, using the N+1 principle.
