Meaning/origin of 七刀斬首

Hi all, I just came across this expression: 七刀斬首 but, except for the literal meaning, I can't understand the origin of this sentence. I thought that maybe it was related to the Lingchi but I really don't know.

Has anyone ever heard anything similar?

If you tell us where you found this combination of characters, it will be a lot easier to explain what it is. I don’t understand it as having any meaning aside from the literal, which also doesn’t make sense.
