DavyJonesLocker Posted June 11, 2019 at 01:13 AM Report Share Posted June 11, 2019 at 01:13 AM Running your own business is an option to stay after 60 but again not a venture you enter into lightly. Requirements and investments can vary a lot I believe depending on the business type. I looked into it before but decided against it for now. Pengyou Posted June 12, 2019 at 06:20 AM Author Report Share Posted June 12, 2019 at 06:20 AM My friend has started a consulting and headhunting business in China. He is 66 - has been in China for 9 years, so to address someone's query, the 60 yo rule has not been very well enforced. I am working with my friend now to see if he can employ me in some manner so that I can continue to work.
DavyJonesLocker Posted June 12, 2019 at 07:51 AM Report Share Posted June 12, 2019 at 07:51 AM That's self employed and owing your own business though. I wonder if that age limit rule still applies though in that case. No idea
889 Posted June 12, 2019 at 09:06 AM Report Share Posted June 12, 2019 at 09:06 AM This is why I said it seems to apply to "ordinary run-of-the-mill" cases. Make yourself a special case and make yourself some special friends and many things become possible.
