Larry Language Lover Posted December 23, 2019 at 01:03 PM Report Share Posted December 23, 2019 at 01:03 PM The Chinese app mentioned here in the forums works great and the Zhongwen extension works great on webpages. My question is, does anybody know of a similar extension that would work for clicking on words in a PDF file for other languages such as German to English in Windows 10? I've tried several extensions that work great on webpages, but haven't discovered how to do this with a PDF.
Shelley Posted December 23, 2019 at 06:49 PM Report Share Posted December 23, 2019 at 06:49 PM The trouble with PDFs is they are usually non editable as they are more like an image than a word document. The easiest way is to convert the PDF to a Word or similar document and then you should be able to use a translation app/program.
TheWind Posted January 30, 2020 at 11:26 AM Report Share Posted January 30, 2020 at 11:26 AM depending on the length of the pdf, you could take a screenshot and use a phone translation app not ideal for more than a few pages though
大块头 Posted January 30, 2020 at 12:32 PM Report Share Posted January 30, 2020 at 12:32 PM I've never used it, but Pleco's document viewer can handle PDF files.
