roddy Posted May 6, 2020 at 05:05 AM Author Report Share Posted May 6, 2020 at 05:05 AM You know what. Rereading that topic I've only just noticed (although maybe it's pointed out in the thread) that he says he'd like to join the PLA "as an officer." Which is even better. He's not going to enlist at the bottom of the army and work his way up. No, he wants to be in charge of a little bit of it from day one. roddy Posted May 7, 2020 at 01:49 PM Author Report Share Posted May 7, 2020 at 01:49 PM Just replaced some attachments that had been missing - about 200 files, but most of those automatically updated profile photos. Some very important bread photos as well. As far as I'm aware, that's everything - actual posts were never affected, we temporarily lost two weeks of attachments and avatars when the filesystem was replaced from a backup. Those are all back in place now.
roddy Posted May 18, 2020 at 06:14 PM Author Report Share Posted May 18, 2020 at 06:14 PM If anyone's noticing any oddities - specifically some avatars not showing, let me know, ideally with your browser / OS. Made some changes to try and speed the site up a bit today, but may need to tweak some settings.
mungouk Posted May 18, 2020 at 07:49 PM Report Share Posted May 18, 2020 at 07:49 PM Fonts appear to have gone a bit wonky as well? Fixed now. Just missing a few avatars. Chrome 81.0.4044.138 on OSX 10.14.

roddy Posted May 19, 2020 at 05:33 AM Author Report Share Posted May 19, 2020 at 05:33 AM "Oh no, I need to make my favourite lunch again," moaned abcdefg. Anyway, no photos or posts were lost.
abcdefg Posted May 19, 2020 at 07:35 PM Report Share Posted May 19, 2020 at 07:35 PM During winter, when days are shorter, I often cook a featured Chinese supper for these pages at about 10 am so the photos will have optimal natural light. Feels strange to not be doing that now, here in Texas.
