I want to do my research and graduation thesis about 成语，so should I choose 外国语言学及应用语言学 or 语言学及应用语言学，and what are the deferences? Demonic_Duck Posted January 26, 2021 at 10:45 PM Report Share Posted January 26, 2021 at 10:45 PM Neither of those sound like they'd have much to do with 文学 (literature). 语言学 is linguistics, which is the science of language — stuff like how grammar works and how languages evolve. 应用语言学 is applied linguistics, and 外国语言学 would be linguistics for foreign (non-Chinese) languages. If you're looking for a course focused on Chinese but aimed at non-native speakers, look for anything named "对外" rather than "外国". You could study 成语 from a 文学 point of view or from a 语言学 point of view, but your focus and methods of study would be very different. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
