Guest Jouni Posted January 4, 2004 at 03:35 AM Report Share Posted January 4, 2004 at 03:35 AM Hello eveyone, Does anyone know where to look for a total immersion course where one would spend from few weeks to few months in a totally secluded, strictly chinese speaking environment with basically fulltime chinese studies (with some time for sports etc) ? For such a course I suppose location could be anywhere in China. I heard 'rumours' that such courses exist at least in the summer but failed to find any exact information... Same rumours put the price of such a course to about 10,000 a month including accomondation, food and studies... I have been working (and trying to study chinese) in China for some months now and have decided to dedicate the spring for really getting a grasp of the language. While Roddy recommended the Bridge school in Beijing for short-term and evening classes (I will check it out next week), I am looking for a more intensive program as time in limited and I will have to start working again one day... I didn't mean to, as I've never actually taken a course there (though it's probably where I'd go if I was going to). Why not travel for a month? That's about as 'immersed' as you can get.
