Chinese Princess and the Pauper? Two girls who look alike in purple and white Chinese outfits

This movie was and old movie filmed in the late 90s. I saw this movie as an elementary student or younger, so my recollections of the movie are not the best. It's a about babies born at the same time. Once when they were younger, when one got hurt, the other could feel the pain. One grows up to a rich family. She is playful. The other grows up being a fighter and has a serious personality. As adults, they meet each other in a changing room. The playful one convinces the serious one to wear her clothes. Their main costume in this movie is a traditional Chinese outfit that is purple and white. There is a love interest of the playful one. While the two girls have changed close, the love interest runs into serious girl. The love interest and parents are in unable to tell the difference, but the little, white dog can sense the difference. In the courtyard, the love interest obtains a kite that has flown off for the playful girl. At the end of the movie, the love interest is able to tell the difference between the two. The serious one ends up dying.

 

Now that I think of it, it's almost like a Chinese version of Princess and the Pauper.
