Could anyone tell me what I could expect in wage demands from a young, maybe uneducated but self learned web/IT worker in Shanghai? Does not have to be specialist in certin field like MySQL, Java, PHP, but more like a general pizza eating pimple outbreaking young punk who know his way around computers AND WITCH SPEEKS ENGLISH! I've found out the "answer" some time ago now, and it's not that far from what yoy are insinuating here. We have calculating with 4500 - 5600 RMP a month in our budgets. Everything from wages to running expenses is 5 - 20 times higher in my home country. And with the economic growth in china, you could almost compare it to the massive moving of people seeking fortune in the US in the early 1900. Everyone either moved or dreamed of moving to the US. If i was developing software for an audience in N.America it would be wise to find people who were more in tuned with the consumer, but judging from your responses I'm going to guess that you're not basing your business on a language specific niche.
