magores Posted January 25, 2006 at 02:20 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2006 at 02:20 PM I saw this news earlier. My question(s)... How will this be different from using google.com from within China? Some sites are already blocked by China. Will google.cn not even show those as search results? Or will it be the same as it is now when you use google.com? google.cn will not offer gmail or blogger. How does this effect people in China that use the already existing services? Will these be blocked? Or will it be status quo? I've seen lots of people shouting "Google is doing Evil!" I'm not so sure I agree. "Devil is in the details", and all that. zhxlier Posted January 25, 2006 at 02:36 PM Report Share Posted January 25, 2006 at 02:36 PM They don't display the search results that are believed to be offensive to CCP at all. I tried "Fa Lun Da Fa" -- it is unbelievable. Hopefully my using of the phrase don't bring trouble to you who are browsing from the mainland.
