deterius Posted February 24, 2006 at 10:50 AM Report Share Posted February 24, 2006 at 10:50 AM Before when I went to china it was all through scholarship, I didnt do any paperwork, but now that I go on my own, its a bit diffrent. I cruised around a few sites, so basicaly I need to go in person to the China embassy (or in my case a travel agent, I live in hawaii) I got that far.. but one more question for the tourist visa(L); submit an official letter issued by the host institution in China, or an application letter which explains the need to visit China frequently for tourism; What is that exacly, and how do I get one? I want to stay in china roughly 3 months, and im just thinking about renewing my Tourist visa for that duration if need too (im gessing getting an F visa is hard or expensive)
Journey Posted February 24, 2006 at 10:17 PM Report Share Posted February 24, 2006 at 10:17 PM Hi there, I can only speak for my own experiences, I know if I require a Visa from the Chinese Embassy in London then I'm required to visit them in person. However, on my recent visit to Hong Kong there were Chinese (Embassy) staff I imagine in the Airport foyer, who were able to process a visa application to Mainland China within 4 hours. That said, I believe there's several tour operators that are able to apply for your visa on your behalf instead, check out www.Tripadvisor.co.uk, you might see some links that can offer you some help. I know things will have to improve before long, we have the Beijing Olympics two years away, I can only imagine the human traffic the embassies will experience if we all have to visit in public, Best wishes, Phil
