is there a site or a program you can download that when you put in a character, it gives you the words (like 2 or 3 characters or whatever) that the character is in? it would help me soooooooooooooooooooo much!!!

Several free programs (but offline) also do that. I don't know if you have a computer or just internet cafes. If you have a computer, then Dimsum, Zdt, or Wenlin all can do what you want, without an internet connection.

I had mistakenly posted this on a thread about character components, but this thread looks like a much more appropriate home for it. 

 

I very much like the dictionary search in TrainChinese, it gives humongous lists of compounds and more. The dictionary function is free and so far doesn't even require registration. 

 

See what it does with 安 for example :

...make sure to click the '+' too
