花样年华

Recommended Posts

Oh, I saw it from Wong Kar Wai's film 花样年华 and I was trying to explain to my friends that the actual meaning of 花样年华 was not like its English title, "In the Mood for Love".

But I couldn't explain 花样年华 well, so I told them. It's like something like "one's glorious past, moment"

Oh yes, I think your answer is pretty good. Thanks! ;-)

HarishiKata is right. Also, you can break this term into 花樣 and 年華--meaning 像花ㄧ樣的(literally flower like)+年華(歲月)(time/life/year). Therefore, 花樣年華 is the time in your life blooming like flowers, namely, the prime time of one's life.

Hope it helps!:)
