But I remember it being a very beautiful song. It's about a boy from the city during the cultural revolution who had been sent to the country side for "reeducation" and had fallen in love with a girl there. Unfortunately, during this time the government didn't want the population of the cities to increase so if you married a peasant you stayed in the country. So the song is about the boy reminiscing about the girl after returning to the city. Lyrics I remember (sorry I don't know how to type in chinese symbols) "yo yi ge gu nian jiao xiao fan" There was a girl named "xiao fan" "da da de yian jin...yo sian liang" Big eyes ....and sparkling "Bian zi chu yo chang" Braids, thick and long "Xie xie ni, ge wo de ai" Thank you for the love you gave me. and then something along the lines of... "Memories of you, I won't recall badly" I'm pretty good at googling, but this song...I just can't find:wall It'd be much appreciated if anyone here knew the title and author to this song.
