Mugi Posted May 30, 2006 at 05:55 AM Author Report Share Posted May 30, 2006 at 05:55 AM Thanks sarahkuang and andrewfz. (那一定会给你胸腔毛 looks suspiciously like a direct translation from English - I was really after a proper Chinese phrase) It has occurred to me that the English can mean slightly different things in different situations. studentyoung Posted May 30, 2006 at 07:38 AM Report Share Posted May 30, 2006 at 07:38 AM Any suggestions for how to say "That'll put hair on your chest" in colloquial Chinese? That’ll put hair on your chest 就是中文里“壮胆”,“压惊”的意思。 For example, if you say, “Hey, take some wine, that’ll put hair on your chest.” In Chinese, that is 来,喝点酒,壮壮胆(压压惊)。 Thanks!
