Lil' Posted June 12, 2006 at 01:07 PM Report Share Posted June 12, 2006 at 01:07 PM Hi everybody! I am an italian girl who is graduating in Chinese literature. I translated two works by 王安忆 (Wang Anyi), but I cannot find much stuff about them, 酒徒 and 富萍. Furthermore I need to write a short introduction about the evolution of modern/contemporary chinese literature in Shanghai. Is there anyone who can help me? Any hint, link, suggestion, ANYTHING?! Thanks

Lil' Posted June 12, 2006 at 08:32 PM Author Report Share Posted June 12, 2006 at 08:32 PM Thanks gato! I made a research on baidu too, but all I found is some synopsis of the xiaoshuo and the price of the book! No comments about Wang's writing style or something else. Anything in english? zhwj Posted June 13, 2006 at 01:09 AM Report Share Posted June 13, 2006 at 01:09 AM Check out the papers at the Modern Chinese Literature and Culture site: MCLC. There's nothing online there, but the papers are probably available in journals through interlibrary loan or from the authors themselves. Plenty of stuff on Wang Anyi. You could also check out the archives of Chinese journals and dissertations, but that would probably require a trip to a Chinese university, if your institution does not have a subscription.
