yingguoguy Posted June 22, 2006 at 03:39 AM Report Share Posted June 22, 2006 at 03:39 AM Now the obvious answer to this is New Practical Chinese Reader 5, however I found last week that the CD's haven't been released yet, and I'm very strict with myself about doing listening before reading, as there's little benefit in listening to something you already know. So what other good resources are there for learning at the intermediate level, preferably with lots and lots of tapes (Roddy recommended a good listening course a while back which I'm slowly working my way though, but I'm looking for more of an intergrated course as well. LevathianNL Posted July 5, 2014 at 03:04 PM Report Share Posted July 5, 2014 at 03:04 PM Hey guys, i bump this topic because I am also wondering what to do after NPCR 4. I heard NPCR book 5 is quite hard because its completely written in Chinese. I also heard someone saying that for people who are more interested in speaking Chinese book 5 is not the best of choice, because book 5 focuses more on reading difficult texts. So what do you think? Just continue the series or move to something else?
PBolchover Posted July 6, 2014 at 05:15 AM Report Share Posted July 6, 2014 at 05:15 AM One of my vague plans is to try to map how the difficult of the levels in different series correspond to each other. I think that the following would be at approximately the right level: Road to Success: Upper Elementary 3 (or Lower Intermediate 1) Jump High: Level 3 Integrated Chinese: Intermediate 1 All of these series have sub-textbooks designed for listening and speaking skills
