Vince Posted July 6, 2006 at 05:21 PM Report Share Posted July 6, 2006 at 05:21 PM My wife is due to teach for 3 weeks in Shanghai this August. Does anyone know how easy/difficult it would be to buy a bike for me whilst she is there? The model I am after is an electric bike sold as a "Giant Suede" in the UK. Is this model available in Shanghai? How much would it cost? Shipping is not an issue as I work for an Airline!!
magores Posted July 11, 2006 at 02:04 PM Report Share Posted July 11, 2006 at 02:04 PM Electric bicycle? In China? Yep. They exist. Not hard to find. Just curious... Why the specific model though? What's so special about it?
Vince Posted July 11, 2006 at 04:39 PM Author Report Share Posted July 11, 2006 at 04:39 PM I am particularly after this model as it is considerably lighter than the majority of e bikes on the market. Is there a "Giant" shop in Shanghai?
wushijiao Posted July 12, 2006 at 04:12 AM Report Share Posted July 12, 2006 at 04:12 AM There are lots of Giant shops in Shanghai (I've bought three in Shanghai, of which two were stolen), although I don't know if the product lines that those shops carry would be the same as the product lines would be in other countries. In fact, just looking at the webpage, I didn't see the "Suede". http://www.giant-shanghai.com/?gOo=c2hvcC5kd3Q In any case, she could always go to a store, or buy another electic bike somewhere else in the city.
