"Beijingers' income per capita ranks the middle among the most five competent metroplises, following Guangzhou and Shanghai. Guangzhou ranks the top with 15,002.5 yuan income per capita; Shanghai, the second, 14, 867.5 yuan; Tianjin, the fourth, 10,313 yuan; Chongqing, the last, 8,093.7 yuan. "

400euro/month is about the average income level in Guangzhou. You cannot do a whole lot with it, but I believe it is sufficient for normal expenses. Roddy and others can tell you about Beijing and other places.

Shanghai was built to impress and they received much more attention from the central government, so they might have more skyscrapers. but the per capita income there is about the same as Guangzhou's. Looks can be deceiving! Get to know Guangzhou more, it's an exciting city! Plus, you haven't been to that many places in Guangzhou either, give her one more chance :P
