New Members Camille lplm Posted July 22, 2014 at 10:43 AM New Members Report Share Posted July 22, 2014 at 10:43 AM Hello everyone,I'm going to study in XISU from next september to june.I would like to rent an apartment with at least three room-mates. People explained me that one of the difficulty will be to find in Xi'an, an estate agency where people speak english. So, i'm wondering if someone knows such an estate agency, which will be close the university's neighbordhood ? Or even specialised web sites.. ?Thanks [:
AaronLIC Posted July 26, 2014 at 04:31 AM Report Share Posted July 26, 2014 at 04:31 AM Hey their, I think booking through any English language website for a place in Xi'an will be expensive. I was down at Xisu last week and it is a great campus with a cool kind of lake and a lively community. Undergoing a little construction on the front gate, You might do well by contacting the people of Xianease or even staying on campus or hotel for a night or two and finding a room when you are there

One year after this message and just one month after my stay in this university, I can confirm you're much better in other universities in Xi'an (Xi'an Jiaotong and Shaanxi Normal University both are part of the Confucius scholarship. I plan on writing a blog post about my stay here to let everyone the treatment we received.

hoshinoumi Posted August 9, 2018 at 12:38 PM Report Share Posted August 9, 2018 at 12:38 PM Here's an extensive review about Xi’an International Studies University (also known as “XISU” or 西安外国语大学 Xī’ān wàiguóyǔ dàxué). Reasons not to go to XISU. Let me know your opinions and comments. Bear in mind that my year in China was worth it and I loved the experience, I only HATED this university. liu.engineer Posted November 14, 2018 at 01:13 PM Report Share Posted November 14, 2018 at 01:13 PM @hoshinoumi Hey! I've read you post in the blogg about the university and it seems to me that most of your problems where with the office the takes care of the dorms. Would you then recommend the university to me if I said that I'll choose to live off campus? If not, is there any other universities in Xi'an that have Chinese programs? I really like the idea of living a year there rather than living it in Beijing. I have considered Tsinghua and BLCU but now it seems like I'm in love with Xi'an so I would like to study there. hoshinoumi Posted November 15, 2018 at 12:08 PM Report Share Posted November 15, 2018 at 12:08 PM @liu.engineer if you pay for the course with your own money and don't depend on the scholarship, by all means, do so. The city and the location are SO worth it!! Let me know how you are doing if you finally go there :)
