hey gang, my namesSsean, im a 27 year old candian with 2 years teaching experience (korea and colombia). i am looking at teaching in china next. however, i was thinking of getting my masters (in TESOL or ESL) or going to teachers college first, before i go there. here are my questions

1. are there certain schools or jobs that require one or the other?

2. does one or the other tend to get you higher paying jobs/ positions?

3. what is most helpful to get the university teaching positions

4. what would you get if you were me?

Also, if anyone has a suggestion for what or where to do my masters , im all ears

thanks in advance!

Leeds is a good option.

A Masters degree helps with pay and acceptance, though few asked for a masters degree in TESOL

licensed teachers are in demand and have a significantly higher salary

why would you teach at an university?   the teaching hours seem to be getting extended but the pay remains miserable. Some will farm you out to grade schools - you don't see any increase in salary.  Students usually don't care.

having a masters of TESOL should let you be able to pick any city (bar perhaps Beijing and Shanghai) and just walk into an English teaching job.
