nevin Posted October 25, 2005 at 06:47 AM Report Share Posted October 25, 2005 at 06:47 AM I was told that China has been cracking down on some forms of internet communication. Is this true? Also, do people use internet phones (either just the software or the ones built into hardware) and do they work ok communicating with people outside of China? puja Posted October 25, 2005 at 10:31 AM Report Share Posted October 25, 2005 at 10:31 AM As Battosai said some Sites are blocked by "the Great Wall" but usually there's nothing you can't view with the a standard proxy or anonymizing-site. I also read in some news that chinese telecoms wanted to cut down on VoIP Telefony Services, but in fact any (and I really tried most of them) Messenger works here as well as Skype, voipbuster and different SIP-Services. The latter depends on where you are connecting as SIP isn't that good with NAT and/or Firewalls. Best regards, Puja
