'都还' means 'all are ok'. eg: 日子过得还都不错 They are living a not-so-bad but peaceful(ordinary, plain) life. eg: 日子过得都还不错 (Mr X has two children,) his children both live a good life. I believe you mean to say "not-so-bad" or "not-bad" right? "Not-so-good" would be negative, and this is not what this sentence conveys. self-taught-mba Posted December 29, 2005 at 05:23 PM Report Share Posted December 29, 2005 at 05:23 PM "都"的位置在两句话里不同. 所以强调的部分也不同. 原句中强调 "不错",指生活还可以. 不是很好也不是很坏.你的句子里强调潜在的所有"要谈到的人". 他或者他们生活得很好. Dōu used before bú cuò is to emphasize / quantify the adverb (bú cuò) (like saying "quite"), but it's used to refer to the people (like saying "both / all") in your sentence. Did you want to express: 'All these days....'? 日子 in your sentence means 'Life' not 'Day'. If you want to say 'every aspect of your life is OK.' use: 日子过得还都不错.
