As one comedian once said, they should really have spent those ten years on 冰火島 on developing it as a holiday resort or a theme park. I think it’s quite fun to put Louis Cha’s novels into English. If I were asked to tell the truth, I would say, taken as a whole, I love translations from the book best. Roddy’s translations, of course, sound excellent to a native speaker, however, they’re too informal and not supposed to be spoken by 张翠山 who was a very learned, and perhaps a bit prim person. I love this translation, “Oh magic sword, what's your secret,”. And I love Aristotle’s “The power, how do I awaken the power of the sword? How do I wield it to command heaven (or world or land?)?” and Skylee’s, “If I leave you now, you won’t live.” Thank all of you for helping me learn!
