seahorse Posted March 4, 2004 at 02:26 AM Report Share Posted March 4, 2004 at 02:26 AM there is a guy named Cuijian,and chinese rock came out cause of him in 1980.but he didn't often perform now days,sometimes he goes to a place named Jazz club near the Nong zhan guan. also there are some bars,you can go to have a look,there are some rock artists,but don't know how good they are. rock in china is not like rock in western country at all----. here are some places you can go- 1 What bar_ 2 highland bar 3 get lucky bar. you can find their addresses in That's beijing magazine. I would pretty much recommend all the albums released from the ones mentioned oh well, here's a short list: Cui Jian - Rock'n'roll on a new long march / Nothing to my name Cui Jian - Balls under the red flag Tang Dynasty -Tang Dynasty Tang Dynasty - Epic Zi Yue - Chapter One to mention a few But i think it depends on what kind of rock music you like.. www.yesasia.com is one place to find chinese rock, and as i recall niubi here has a nice list of places where to find them, just check http://www.niubi.com/shop/index.html Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

His album 爱是一颗幸福的子弹 （ai shi yi ke xingfude zidan) is excellent, but some people say he's sold out and gone too poppy recently.
