anonymoose Posted October 18, 2006 at 08:47 PM Report Share Posted October 18, 2006 at 08:47 PM 你认识......的人吗? Do you know someone who speaks English? 你认识会说英语的人吗? Do you know someone who likes to cut pieces of ropes with sharp scissors? 你认识喜欢用锋利的剪刀剪绳索成段的人吗? I'm not sure if my second sentence is 100% correct, but you should be able to see the pattern anyway. roddy Posted October 19, 2006 at 03:16 AM Report Share Posted October 19, 2006 at 03:16 AM 你(有沒有)認識......的人? I'd find the 有没有 very strange there.
HashiriKata Posted October 19, 2006 at 06:31 AM Report Share Posted October 19, 2006 at 06:31 AM I'd find the 有没有 very strange there. I think that structure is quite common in Taiwan. What we normally learn nowadays (in the mainland)is: 你认不认识。。。?
Gulao Posted October 23, 2006 at 01:32 AM Report Share Posted October 23, 2006 at 01:32 AM What we normally learn nowadays (in the mainland)is:你认不认识。。。? What we were told to teach the kids at the Chinese camp I worked at was: 你认识不认识。。。?on the grounds that it was more "correct." Up until that point, I had always been taught 认不认识 and the like, though.
