speldwiday Posted October 30, 2006 at 07:32 PM Report Share Posted October 30, 2006 at 07:32 PM Is there a classic chinese symbol (not character) that represents "brotherhood"? (i.e. twin dragons or the like???) Also: is there a more fancy, caligraphic way to write these two characters for the word "brothers"? shyong di The 'shyong/hing' just looks so simple and plain Thanks in advance! Ardison Posted January 27, 2007 at 02:29 AM Report Share Posted January 27, 2007 at 02:29 AM You may use one word "義" that implies loyalty to each other. 義 is a traditional character whereas 义 is a simplified one.
Koneko Posted January 27, 2007 at 02:16 PM Report Share Posted January 27, 2007 at 02:16 PM I am afraid we don't have any definite Chinese symbols for "brotherhood". What kind of "brotherhood" were you refering to here? Something to do with the church? Or just gangsters? If it's the latter, I think each clan (党派)has its own symbol. It can be "Chrysanthemum", "Double dragons", "Phoenix", etc K.
