The "F-status visa"..

hi,

i'm not sure under which headline to place this question, but i figured out "universities and schools" will do because it's related to education.

i will study at BLCU next spring-term; from 01march to 07(i think)july. today i got my pappers back from the school, including a papper that allows me to go to the embassy to get an f-status visa so i can stay in china while studying. however, on this paper, it says nothing about dates when i can enter or when i have to leave china. all it says is "duration of study: 2007 03 - 2007 07".

therefore, i wonder about the rules of this f-status visa. i have planned to arrive in beijing in mid-feb to fix accomondation etc., but will the visa allow me to do that? is there a specific amount of days that i can stay in china after entering her with the f-status visa, or do i have to set the dates myself at the embassy?

what i'm most worried about is that the embassy will set the visa-dates simply from march to july, which would mean that i will miss the regestration in late-feb and thereby not be able to study at all :help i guess and hope this will not happend, but how do the personell at the embassy in sweden know when i want to enter china?

how did you other guys solved the "problem" with an f-status visa? maybe i should go to the embassy to talk to the personell, but i know since before they really lack in english skill..

thanks in advance

The form you get from the school just has the dates you'll be studying, not the date you'll be entering. On the visa application form (see here for an online version), you get to list your intended date of entry. If you're planning on arriving in mid-Feb, just put down that date.
