Learner Posted December 4, 2006 at 05:56 PM Report Share Posted December 4, 2006 at 05:56 PM If your friend is a French speaker, he or she will find the following two sites helpful for learning Chinese. The first (chine-nouvelle) starts off at the very beginning, by teaching pinyin. It includes audio files. The second one (ramou) assumes that you already know pinyin, but provides, among other things, annotated texts (with new words explained in French) at various levels (from easy to difficult). The materials in both sites are free. http://www.chine-nouvelle.com/methode/chinois http://www.ramou.net/fa/index.htm Learner
fulgentius Posted December 4, 2006 at 08:33 PM Report Share Posted December 4, 2006 at 08:33 PM Oh, I almost forgot! If you want to actually practice the pronunciation (including tones) of Pinyin then this site is an absolute must: http://www.pinyinpractice.com/ I used a software package (which cost money) to learn pinyin (and I learned it pretty well, if I say so myself ) but this site is basically the same thing and it's free.
