Let me give you a brief tour of the currently popluar TV series "Dicey Business".

The main role Kiu Ching-Chou is a man of contradiction. He cherishes friendship and his lover. But when it comes to his fame, he can give up everything for it. Although he has been struggling, he just can't overcome his vainity. This is a very intriguing character.

And the main female actress did a very good job acting as an addict gambler.

It has a good start. Good acting and good actors. But the ending looks somewhat disappointing (I've bought the DVD in Shanghai but am not really interested in watching it, plus the disc-version is in Mandarin which is a major letdown).

personally, I don't think this series is that great....

no I don't want to see the mandarin version (i.e. the dvd I've bought). the last episode will be broadcast tonight anyway. and info on how the story ends can be found easily on the web - that beautiful flowery dress and those beautiful legs ...

i agree that the script is flawed. but Mr Miu is too charming to give up.

Video overdubbing of any language should be illegal. I don't understand a word of Cantonese, however it kills me to watch a Hong Kong movie/tv show in Mandarin.

For example, Stephen Chow has a unique voice and having someone else try imitating him speaking Mandarin is painful.

BTW, this is in today's newspaper, and it looks like all those mainland audience saw version 1 of the ending -> 宣萱爆《賭場風雲》 兩個版本結局

宣萱笑說：「兩個結局都無揀三哥的，其中一個是歐陽震華抱着一個BB出來，沒有交代他是否已婚，給觀眾一個幻想空間，第二個版本就要保留，讓觀眾到時去睇，不過現在也不知播那一個版本。」

I think this series is better than most of other TVB series. It depicts a conflicting character so well.

And Michael Miu did a great job in this series.

yeah. i was at the video rental shop yesterday and was told that this serials is very popular. A lot of customers reserve the whole series.. now on having 8 / 10 disc. the remaining two will arrive by coming saturday.

i think this show is definitely good because:

1) Story Line: Gambling

2) Bobby Au Yeung

3) Michael Miu

just finished watching the 35 episodes a couple of days back. I find that the gambling screens too little. Not very impressive. I guess TVB shall squeeze it to 20 episodes. they probably made it 35 because too many big names and 2 locations shooting.
