Could anyone explain what 扯遠 means please? This was the original context:

“LZ說的是BRIT我就不扯遠了"

I haven't found a definition for it anywhere.

Thanks so much. :)

To get off the topic to discuss about "BRIT" (as "BRIT" is not what is being discussed now).

semantic nuance

Literally, 扯 is 'stretch' 遠 is 'far'. 扯遠 can mean 'digress' . Its synonym is 離題 off the topic.

Hope it helps!:)

Ha ha... If you know someone's getting off topic in your future conversation.

You may consider to use this funny Chinese expression to get him back on track.

有话快说,有屁快放。

有话快说,有屁快放。

Instead of funny, this is rather rude IMHO. And I wouldn't use it even to close friends or family.

Ha ha... True!

I come from a funny family where "faecal discussion" during dinner time is not really a taboo.

We don't see this as a breach of etiquette nor faux pas. He he...

Just be yourself, so long you're happy doing it - of course without breaking the law.

Cat fight!!!

Haha sorry I couldn't resist.. but seriously, I'm with skylee - that phrase sounds a bit trashy to me (though it is pretty funny). Kind of like Borat if you're at all familiar with his work. 有一點不好的建議. :)

Oh please I beg of you!

Could you please be a little more ailurophilic to both Skylee and myself. Ha ha...

Come and play with us - we won't bite!
