SneakyPete Posted February 8, 2007 at 02:31 AM Report Share Posted February 8, 2007 at 02:31 AM I'm making something for my girlfriend's graduation. She is learning mandarin, and I would like to write something to her in mandarin (not romanized). I've tried searching, but not knowing a thing about the language makes it hard. I'm afraid I'll wind up with something like "I love you like the sweat of a camel" I think she is a member of this board, so I don't want to list any specifics. Please PM me if you can help me out. This is very important to me. Thanks in advance.
Lu Posted February 8, 2007 at 10:47 AM Report Share Posted February 8, 2007 at 10:47 AM What would you like to write? Congratulations, I love you? I'm sure there are people on this board who can help you. My grandmother did this for my graduation. She ended up writing: 福經 福中國 電郵 ('congratulations with this document; good luck in China; email me when you get there'.) I thought it was extremely sweet, I was so happy with it. And I was glad she had written the translation under it, 'cause it's completely unintelligible to any Chinese :-)
SneakyPete Posted February 8, 2007 at 06:21 PM Author Report Share Posted February 8, 2007 at 06:21 PM That's the basic Idea. But I don't want to just throw it out on the board, being that it's specific. I don't want her to find out about it. I only have until Monday (I still have to Try to make it look perfect when I try to write it). Any Help??? Thanks Again.
