If you look white enough, it can be done, but I think it takes time before this kind of career takes off. I also know people who modelled, but only to make a little extra money. You can definitely more than pay the rent by tutoring kids privately. Seems most of the jobs are given to white girls (I'm of Indian origin and have only had one tutoring job, others never called back despite the fact that I'm American and speak English like any other joe schmo). I was sitting outside once in a busy place and someone came to give me a card, saying they were looking for models. That never happened out of China! What I'm basically saying is that they are definitely looking for foreigners for modeling, to the point where they hire headhunters to find people. Good luck!
