We have just completed a comprehensive review of our Chinese language audio wordfiles. There are now 115 wordfiles available for free download for both the Windows and Windows Mobile/Pocket PC versions of our FlashCards software.

-- (ii) For those of you who have taken the plunge and moved over to Windows Vista, we have ported our free Audio Word of the Day Google gadgets to Windows Vista Sidebar Gadgets. Is includes a Chinese Audio Word of the Day Sidebar gadget.

The easiest way to access these is to visit the Windows Live Gallery and search for the language you are interested in. On the Gadget page itself there is a “Download to Sidebar” button. Clicking that and hitting an OK button a couple of times will install the gadget to your Vista sidebar.

One caveat is that you will need Adobe’s FlashPlayer to play the audio. This can be downloaded for free from Adobe.

-- (iii) Continuing on the theme of Windows Vista, we have just added sections to our Chinese IME installation page that explain, step by step, how to install Chinese fonts and IMEs in Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows Vista.

We also include details of how to use the IME, including a list of keyboard shortcuts.
