nomad Posted June 1, 2007 at 08:49 AM Report Share Posted June 1, 2007 at 08:49 AM Is anyone out there teaching at BeiShiDa (BNU)? I've been offered an English teaching position for this Fall and am wondering what the university is like. Are there other Western expats teaching there? What are the facilities like? The pros-cons... Any information appreciated. Thanks
adrianlondon Posted June 1, 2007 at 05:48 PM Report Share Posted June 1, 2007 at 05:48 PM A friend of mine teaches there (although we're not close, so I don't know too much about his situation, nor can I ask him as I'm leaving Beijing later today). He says the environment is great, the living conditions on campus are fine, but the pay can be quite low if you go direct. He says other people have gone through agencies (which in the UK would normally mean you'd be paid less, as the agency takes its cut) and are on quite a bit more than he is. nomad Posted June 2, 2007 at 02:39 AM Author Report Share Posted June 2, 2007 at 02:39 AM Thanks for the info. Yeah, the salary is low for universities in China but the hours are good. I'm glad to hear that the environment is great. It's also good to know that there are other expats teaching there. Thanks
