mewaters Posted June 13, 2007 at 06:55 AM Report Share Posted June 13, 2007 at 06:55 AM Can anyone recommend a decent place to stay for a few nights near Peking University? I'll be doing a language program there this summer (starts next week) but I'm arriving a few days early and I need to arrange accommodation until the program starts. It would be a room for me and my wife, so I'm not interested in hostel-style dormitory rooms and I guess I'd be happy if I spent around 150 RMB/night. If there are any suggestions, please leave the place's phone number and address. Thanks!
Dani_man Posted June 14, 2007 at 09:36 AM Report Share Posted June 14, 2007 at 09:36 AM 150RMB is definitely hostel's price. As far as I know, in Wudaokao area (the commercial center close to Beida) there is one 4 star hotel that will cost you 500rmb per night... it's called xijiao hotel. You can google for it. another place is an Hostelling International hostel called PekingUni, that a double room will cost you around240rmb (you might want to check the current prices: http://www.hostelbeijing.com/hosteldetails.php/HostelNumber.18047). I've been there and the rooms aren't amazing and you might consider being there only for couple of days. That's my 2 cents
Long Pan Posted June 14, 2007 at 10:01 AM Report Share Posted June 14, 2007 at 10:01 AM In Wudaokou, 5 minutes bicycle from Beida, you have He jia binguan option.
Dani_man Posted June 15, 2007 at 09:50 AM Report Share Posted June 15, 2007 at 09:50 AM I've just heard about a hotel where foreigners live while they are studying at Beida, and it's located nearby. It's called 北京大学勺园 (BeiJing DaXue ShaoYuan) I don't know much about it, you can take a look at their website: http://www.pku.edu.cn/pkucc/shaoyuan/,
