Studying Mandarin in LA

Is there a market for highly professional Mandarin language training in LA? We are a professional Mandarin language training institute with headquarters in Hong Kong and training centers all over China. We focus on the Expat business executives and their spouces. We are looking at the market for such training in the US and I was wondering if there is such a market in LA.

Because we invest heavilly in hiring and training profesional teachers and developing all our own teaching materials such as Online courses, CD-Roms, DVDs and textbooks, we charge quite a bit more than private tutors or small training companies. The learning results, however, are much better so we are chosen by executives who do business in China but have very busy schedules so can't afford to waste much time learning with a poor method or trainer.

I am interested to hear suggestions on where in the US a market would exist. I presume near the corporate headquarters of American companies who do business in China. Does LA have many such corporate headquarters?

Los Angeles certainly has many company headquarters. Unfortunately, LA also has one of the largest Asian and Chinese populations in the United States. The market you are hoping to enter is likely already saturated by service-providers of your type. Naturally, some will be worse or less professional than you but others may be better or more professional. If you are serious about expanding your operations to LA, you would do well to do more market research and even make a lengthy visit to LA to see just how many Chinese people and businesses are already there.
