WoAiJolinTsai Posted July 20, 2007 at 12:24 AM Report Share Posted July 20, 2007 at 12:24 AM What helps you when studying Chinese? Me 1) If your sitting at your computer studying... use dual monitor display, or have a lot of room on your monitor. It's much more productive I feel.. dont need to keep switching windows between your vocab list, dictionary, adostrans, mp3 player, etc. 2) Cover up the clock. Although studying is supposed to be enjoyable, I find it much harder with clock staring and mocking you. Basically, time moves much faster I feel if I'm not constantly looking at the time. 3) Have caffeine. Helps me from falling asleep when repetitive listening and keeps me more focussed. Xiao Kui Posted July 20, 2007 at 02:32 AM Report Share Posted July 20, 2007 at 02:32 AM i always get more done in a coffee house with good coffee and a relaxing environment than i can get done at home. Of course the coffee is expensive, but to me if I get 2 hrs of good study time in for a 25 RMB cup of coffee it still comes out less than tuition at the local uni or paying a tutor.
