They then expanded to the rest of the Yangtse delta region, and are now looking toward other parts of China. They are mostly housewives and very collective (purchasing in groups). The entire Yangtse delta have complained greatly about this real estate speculation, that has driven prices up in nearly every city in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, and Shanghai. Most are glad (particulary those from nearby Hangzhou) that the Wenzhou people now have their speculating eyes elsewhere instead of in their backyard. Wenzhou has about the same population as Hong Kong, so not all people from Wenzhou are rich. Shanghai's GDP per capita is much higher still. 200,000 people from Wenzhou are probably directly involved with real estate speculation. People in Wenzhou speak Southern Wu. They then expanded to the rest of the Yangtse delta region, and are now looking toward other parts of China. not exactly, we should say they got rich and then became real estate speculators in shanghai market. lots of wenzhou ppl got rich in manufacture industry, sure some of them are reall manufacturers, and the others are totally false corn makers. it's true that wenzhou is a famous base for this. and after that, they realized wenzhou has no enough space to spend/invest thier money, they came to shanghai... I'm joking, I have a friend from Wenzhou, they are pretty rich, hardworking too, he attends Beijing Normal University. One day he heard that I collected coins, and he took some out of his magic pocket, he has everything in his pocket, watches, fountain pen, telephone cards...
