I put this in the Grammar column, but though a lot of people have looked at it, no one has answered, so I'm putting it here, to see if I have any better luck.

I'm trying to learn a bit of written Mandarin, and perhaps a little Cantonese on the side. (Most Chinese Speakers in this area are Cantonese, though there is one elderly lady in a family of Cantonese who speaks only Minnan.)

I've been using CEDICT, though it appears there are some phrases it hasn't gotten to yet. I've been concentrating on GB, though I also have the Traditional CEDICT.

I would like to know the pin yin, jyutpin, and English translation for the following phrases:

万物

没有

一样

(If any of these don't make sense in Cantonese, I'd appreciate knowing the "proper" form.)

万物 wanwu：everything on the earth

eg春天来了，万物复苏。the spring is coming ，everything wake up。

没有 mei you：have no

eg:我没有钱，i have no money

一样 yi yang：the same

eg:这两样东西是一样的，the two things are the same。

I thought it had to be 非常感谢 (fei1 chang2 gan3 xie4), rather than 感谢非常 (gan3 xie4 fei1 chang2). Can anyone confirm this?

非常感谢＝thanks a lot or thank you very much.

it is just like we usually say "thank you very much", not "very much thank you"

Cantonese do not use 没有, they simply say 冇/无。
