horas Posted September 14, 2007 at 07:41 PM Report Share Posted September 14, 2007 at 07:41 PM * Found a 'travel blog': www.gadling.com Tell me if there's any other interesting travel blogs you know. A Canadian in Beijing is a series that explores life in Beijing from the perspective of a Canadian musician named Ember Swift. Talking about everything from traffic to eating vegan, live music to accessibility issues, Ember journeys through life in this huge city (as well as some forays out of town) across a three-month period. If you're planning a trip to China, this series is perfect for you. It will open your eyes to some interesting customs, some fantastic tourist sites to check out as well as some philosophical insights into the current merging of cultures between the West and the East http://www.gadling.com/a-canadian-in-beijing-april/ http://www.gadling.com/a-canadian-in-beijing-may/ http://www.gadling.com/a-canadian-in-beijing-june/ -
Pravit Posted September 14, 2007 at 08:18 PM Report Share Posted September 14, 2007 at 08:18 PM Pardon the self-promotion, but I do a photo-intensive travel blog about China that almost never gets visited. I've started doing a series of posts about my travels in Xinjiang, a truly amazing place. I've been to some other neat places, like the Tibetan area of Gansu, and across the North Korean border, so have a look at my blog sometime if you think it sounds interesting: http://backinprc.blogspot.com/

Not sure if it's exactly what you are looking for but I went through in detail everything about getting a visa and dealing with taxi drivers, stuff like that. billiardsmike Posted October 1, 2007 at 10:46 PM Report Share Posted October 1, 2007 at 10:46 PM I hesitate to mention mine, as it is strictly off the cuff and reflects not one moment of research. I'm sure I'll get flamed for the hundreds of inaccuracies I mean to fix one day, as well a certain disrespect for political correctness. http://newtochina.blog.com I post there, but can no longer read it, as it's blocked in China. (I couldn't access the blogspot sites either.) Pictures were also next to impossible to upload. As a result, I've been moving it to http://myspace.com/dumblaowai I like the gadling site.
