Thoughts about the "Brushing Up Your Vocab. for the HSK" series

Just curious to see if any of you have any experience or thoughts about this series:

Brushing Up Your Vocabulary for the HSK

There are three levels: elementary, intermediate and advanced.

For those that have used this series, how many words are in each volume? How many words are covered in each level (e.g. all three elementary volumes)? I'm trying to determine which book I should start with. I've been studying full-time in Harbin for 13 months, and currently half way through NPCR 5. The end of NPCR 5 should have taught up to about 3000 new words.

According to the book’s preface:

其中，初级篇共收3296个词语，全部为甲、乙两级词；中级篇包括丙级词2662个；高级篇包括丁级词3569个。
