Quest Posted April 27, 2004 at 01:20 AM Report Share Posted April 27, 2004 at 01:20 AM 如果还有时间的话,我们可以开始讲下一课吗? Ruguo haiyou shijian de hua, women keyi kaishi jiang xiayi ke ma? or 如果我们有时间,能不能开始讲下一课? Ruguo women you shijian, neng bu neng kaishi jiang xia yi ke?
skylee Posted April 27, 2004 at 01:49 AM Report Share Posted April 27, 2004 at 01:49 AM I guess the original sentence in Chinese is - "如果我們有工夫, 能不能下一課開始?" The second part must be changed to "能不能開始下一課". As to the first part, I think it is better to use "時間" instead of "工夫". And of course both of Quest's suggestions are OK. hparade Posted April 27, 2004 at 03:43 AM Report Share Posted April 27, 2004 at 03:43 AM yes, i think in the south, particularly Cantonese people use 講 e.g 講野 more, while in the north, 說話 is more used for speak, talk, etc ; but 講 is also used in north; 講課 is used for teaching lessons
Quest Posted April 28, 2004 at 05:54 AM Report Share Posted April 28, 2004 at 05:54 AM it is always 讲课 not 说课. However for "speak", 说 is the one to use in Mandarin.
