Good Mandarin School in NY/ Connecticut?.

Hello all,

Just joined, and my first post. First of all, I’m in the United States, in Connecticut. I am very interested in learning Chinese. I have a job, that might pay for me to learn, however, I am not holding my breath. So, does anyone out there know of a reputable mandarin school in my local (New York & Connecticut) area? I do know of Wossing (NY), ABC Language Exchange (NY), & The Chinese Language School (CT). However, does anyone out there know of these or another reputable mandarin school? I would like to be up to speed to eventually learn in China itself, and pass the language proficiency test. But, I must admit it will be very daunting for me to get to go to school there, giving my responsibilities (bills) and my age (30+).

Anyway, I have decided that I will try in earnest to contribute to this forum with my decisions, experiences, and will try to help when I can.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You might try the Chinese Language School of Connecticut, with programs in Greenwich and surrounding schools (www.ChineseLanguageSchool.org or email at info@chineselanguageschool.org).

They have language programs weekdays and weekends, adult programs, corporate translation, interpretation, and summer camps for kids and teens.

They have a good blog for posting comments, etc (I have two daughters at the school). The blog is http://greenteapop.blogspot.com/ .

www.ChineseLanguageSchool.org good luck!
