Can you please translate: Ashley Michelle Grimsley

It is a female name, everytime I look up the translation of this name and ask a native of China they say that it is wrong and give me another translation that when I show someone else they say it is wrong.

Thanks so much for your help again.

That is because there is no correct way to translate names. Have a read of the following two threads, which discuss some of the issues involved with "translating" English names into Chinese:

  • 2 weeks later...

i think there is no standard way to translate Engllish into Chinese

try ask 10 people then u may have more than 10 different names as a result, except those common names like John, Peter

e.g. John ---> 約翰

i read many books which are translated by Taiwanese, Chinese or HongKonger, there are different translations for ONE name

e.g. Nina --- >妮娜, 麗娜; Anna ---> 安妮, 安里, 安娜

hope this helps.
