Why can't ZDT paste capital letters?

I just got a complete vocabulary list for my Chinese Made Easier (CME) textbooks that includes the Chinese character, pinyin, and definitions.

I've already found in a previous thread/post that the import feature doesn't work so well, but copying and pasting my list does.

I noticed though, 10 of the words on the first Lesson didn't copy into ZDT flashcard session. After scanning and reviewing them, the one's that did not copy had Capitalized pinyin. I'm new to Chinese language study and ZDT, why can't ZDT copy/paste capital pinyin?

Hi Maku,

What kind of import format are you selecting? Are you choosing custom import format? I was able to take some of your entries that had capitalized pinyin and import them successfully.

Hey Chris,

I tried using the custom import set at UTF-8 and definition from file, but it says unable to parse file. I also tried import set at UTF-16 and it came up with unrecognizable characters.

I've saved the file in both Word and Excel (I'm using version 2007) as text file (UTF-, plain text, tab delimited text, and unicode text. I've pretty much given up on the import feature as I mentioned in this post and another thread.

But, I've found out if I just copy my word list and then use the paste feature on the categories folder it works great. But like I said, it wouldn't paste the items that had capitalized pinyin. I guess it's not that big of a deal, I can just go through and edit the list beforehand and lowercase all the capital letters. I am trying to figure the basic in's & out's of the program though, before I share it with my friends at school.
