hepingrob Posted March 13, 2008 at 09:13 AM Report Share Posted March 13, 2008 at 09:13 AM I'm looking at different schools in Beijing to study, and it sounds like BNU might be an ideal fit. I know that BCLU has a gym on campus as well as another in Wudaokou. Does anyone know about BNU? Thanks!
adrianlondon Posted March 13, 2008 at 11:03 AM Report Share Posted March 13, 2008 at 11:03 AM There are gyms near BNU but none on campus. Well, ok, there is one on campus and it's next to Dorm 3, but it consists of a couple of resistance machines and not much else. I didn't join a gym (too busy eating to exercise) but was handed a few flyers around campus from time to time. Most of them require 6 months' commitment. crow610 Posted March 14, 2008 at 06:46 AM Report Share Posted March 14, 2008 at 06:46 AM I signed up for a year at Haosha, around 1000 RMB. Pretty good gym!
roddy Posted March 14, 2008 at 07:19 AM Report Share Posted March 14, 2008 at 07:19 AM Where's the nearest Haosha to BNU? I don't think there was one nearby when I lived in the area, but they spring up pretty quickly. There's also a gym in the basement of the 今典花园 complex, few minutes walk south of the west gate of BNU. I had a look once, but never got round to joining.

Jamoldo Posted March 14, 2008 at 07:46 AM Report Share Posted March 14, 2008 at 07:46 AM the one in Kingdom Garden 今典花园 is apparently quite expensive but the facilities look really nice.

crow610 Posted March 16, 2008 at 06:00 PM Report Share Posted March 16, 2008 at 06:00 PM It's right behind X門, forgot which one though. All I remember is that there is a HUGE smoke stack right next to the gym.

jbradfor Posted August 15, 2011 at 08:57 PM Report Share Posted August 15, 2011 at 08:57 PM Recommend you use the search function (in the upper left, not upper right). For example: http://www.chinese-forums.com/index.php?/topic/16653-does-bnu-have-a-gym-nearby/
roddy Posted August 15, 2011 at 09:00 PM Report Share Posted August 15, 2011 at 09:00 PM Merging - I think there might be better on-campus facilities at BNU now though.
Mulletious Posted August 24, 2011 at 12:35 AM Report Share Posted August 24, 2011 at 12:35 AM there is a good, cheap Gym about 10-12 mins walk south of BNU. It costs 400 for half year, 650 for full year for students which is a good deal. It is in 文慧园(wenhuiyuan)on the back of building 15. They have lots of machines, free classes daily, and it is fairly clean.
