ala Posted May 26, 2004 at 10:58 AM Report Share Posted May 26, 2004 at 10:58 AM How much do these ads reflect the reality in HK? If a lot, why banned? I assume they must reflect society, because even in Shanghai now, under puritan govt, there is a tendency to express the alternative. Esp with rising unemployment, misled faiths and disillusionment etc. hehe they all look pretty old for the age they list, or maybe I was just premature. Quest Posted May 26, 2004 at 11:35 AM Report Share Posted May 26, 2004 at 11:35 AM the things they say seem pretty acceptable to me. but to promote them is another matter I guess.
pazu Posted May 26, 2004 at 04:09 PM Report Share Posted May 26, 2004 at 04:09 PM I'm quite sure the ads company knew it would be controversial, it's controversial so it was chosen to be the ads, and then banned.
林彪 Posted May 26, 2004 at 05:55 PM Report Share Posted May 26, 2004 at 05:55 PM I'm glad they banned it, actually. It's mind manipulation. I don't see what's so hot about some carbonated sugary sludge water anyway.
Ian_Lee Posted May 26, 2004 at 07:31 PM Report Share Posted May 26, 2004 at 07:31 PM What is wrong with those messages? (1) Age 14 is not a kid: In the subtropical climate like HK, menstruation start as early as 10 years old among some girls. Of course, 14 is not a kid any more. (2) Bra Cup size 31A is not a shame: Better than American girls who have silicon implant at the age of 16. (3) Lesbain: What is wrong with lesbian? (4) Teacher-student love: Do you mean you guys/gals never secretly love your teacher in the High School years? (5) 10A excellence: Dancing, piano, comic drawing, fashion, writing, acting,.....etc all offer great potential in HK.

Ian_Lee Posted May 27, 2004 at 01:24 AM Report Share Posted May 27, 2004 at 01:24 AM 调侃 is not a Cantonese vocabulary. 9 out of 10 people in Hong Kong will scratch their heads and try to find out what you mean when you said 调侃.
